About the Artist
Artist, Painter, Creator
Amanda Whyte is a Canadian artist from Markham, Ontario. She fell in love with creating at an early age, gleaning inspiration from the mundane moments found in various landscapes. After graduating from the Arts Unionville program in 2014, she went on to study Graphic Communications Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in 2018. As a self-taught artist, Amanda has sold original paintings to private collectors across North America and Europe.
Traditionally painting with acrylics, she is working on developing her artistic style through studying the surface properties of everyday objects and elements found in the natural landscape. Amanda's current body of work focuses on the interplay between reflections and abstract forms found amongst rocks and pebbles. This simple subject matter gives her the freedom to experiment with the transparency of water, light, reflections, and the contrast between flowing water amongst the stillness of rocks, to capture a moment in time.
